Week Ending 14th December 2012

The end of an extremely busy week!  The younger children entertained parents with two performances of "The Landlord's Cat", whilst older children performed the pantomime "Cinderella", to packed audiences.  Well done to all!  Every child in the Main School participated in either the concert or the pantomime.  Pre-School children were not left out - they took to the stage on Friday to perform songs and act out a Christmas story for their parents.

Next week is party week, with visits from a very special visitor!  There will also be a Christmas lunch, games day and of course, a visit to Milton Keynes Theatre to see Cinderella.

Now all that remains is to wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Week Ending 7th December 2012

On Monday, we held an Open day, when there were three sessions, enabling visitors to see the School "at work", and share a power point presentation of our future plans, for Primary Education at Eaton Bray.

Dress rehearsals for our Concert and Pantomime have taken place, on Thursday and Friday.  Both performances were polished and professional!

Snow this week has made play time extra cold... but also extra fun!  Our hens have now got extra protection from the elements, and are basking in luxury accommodation!

Santa's float will be travelling around on Sunday evening, so look out for this very special sight, when many of our supportive HSA members past and present will be "on board."

Dates:
Concert: Monday 10th December, 9.30am, Tuesday 11th December, 2.00pm
Panto: Wednesday 12th December, 2.00pm, Thursday 13th December, 7.30pm

Week Ending 30th November 2012

Our Christmas Fayre was well supported on Saturday, with one of the most important visitors being Father Christmas.  Fun seemed to be had by all who attended.  Here are some photos to update those of you who could not manage to join us:

Tuesday morning was another busy time in the School, when parents came along to celebrate the achievements of their children.  There was a very wide range of: pictures, decorated totem poles, a reindeer with a flashing red nose and a wall hanging that retold the story of Guy Fawkes.

Year 3 and 4 children have been working very hard to get their Enterprise Sale ready for Friday 14th December.  They will be selling a range of goods that they have produced themselves, with a little financial help from the "EBA Dragons' Den."  Invitations will be issued to parents to come along and see for themselves how innovative and enterprising their children really are!  Don't forget to bring some money as we are sure you will be tempted by what's on offer...

Scripts and songs for the pantomime and concerts are almost word perfect, so now there are a few polishing touches, to make them as perfect as usual!

Week Ending 23rd November 2012

Monday was an exciting day for us at Eaton Bray Academy, when a visitor came in to talk and show us artefacts about Diwali.

On Wednesday, there was the opportunity for Year 4 children to attend Cookery club, after School.  The Club was held in the kitchen and the children planned, designed and made pizzas.  The end results looked very appetising... with very generous toppings!  The children said they felt like real chefs, with one confident that he could soon be winning competitions on television!

Week Ending 16th November 2012

The sunshine bonus this week has allowed P.E. lessons to be outdoors.  The children do always require full indoor and outdoor kit (named of course!) to accommodate all types of weather.

Scripts for the Pantomime and the Concert are almost word perfect, with only three full weeks until the actual performances.  Please do come along, and support your children in their singing, dancing and acting.

Remember also, our Christmas Fayre, Saturday week, from 12.30 - 3.30pm.  there will be lots of stalls with exciting new items for sale, so come along and spend your pocket money, and perhaps tick a few more Christmas presents off the list!

Friday, 9 November 2012

Week Ending 9th November 2012

Welcome back!

Hopefully a happy and healthy half term was enjoyed by all.  There are just a few weeks left until our Pantomime and Christmas Concert performances, so words and songs are nearly perfect... just a few finishing touches to be added!  Thanks to all, especially those who even took panto scripts on holiday with them to learn!

The hall and corridors will be decorated in the theme of Cinderella, so look out for characters and scenes from the story.

As we have been awarded Primary status, we are holding an Open Day on Monday 3rd December.  Times are:
       9.30 - 11.30am
       2.00 - 3.00pm
       from 7.30 in the evening.

Please do come along and hear about our plans for the future of our older children.  Governors and Staff will be available throughout.
