Week Ending 12th September 2014

Busy, busy, busy ...... yes, that's the start of a new School Term!

Our new Hedgehogs are settling in well, and have enjoyed their first P.E. lesson!

On Tuesday afternoon, our Year 4s and 5s enjoyed their first ukelele lesson with a visiting teacher from the Bedfordshire Music Service. They had a great time, learning lots about rhythm and music theory in a fun and active way, and we hope that they will soon be able to entertain us all with their musical prowess!

The beautiful weather this week has been ideal for Forest School activities, and the challenge this week was to make hanging sculptures from natural materials. The children were given a length of string, and instructions to include something with an interesting smell, something with an uneven texture, and something you wouldn't expect to find in a forest.. this certainly allowed them to be creative and imaginative!

On Thursday, a visiting art teacher came to host an exciting Art Assembly, and to tell about a new after school Art Club, starting next week.  Children in Years 2 to 6 will have the chance to do pottery, collage, silk painting and many other areas of art. Your child will have brought home a leaflet with details for the club, which will be an extension to the art already done in Key Stage 1 and 2.

We are looking forward to taking delivery of our new min-bus later this term - another first for Eaton Bray Academy! Many exciting trips are already planned and in our diary. Here's to another busy, exciting, fun and original year!!
