A lovely bright, sunny week! The children have enjoyed being on the field, going under our Olympic hoops, then practising events, ready for our Olympic sports day event.
Our grounds are looking very colourful... can you spot the "Jubilee" areas? "Open Gardens" this year is on Sunday 10th June, so do come along and have a tour of our grounds and enjoy some refreshments. Lots to see: entrance, orchard, allotment, class gardens, pond, chicken "shack", field, hedgerows.
Children have had experience of additional soccer (EB Lions) and tennis this week, and KS2 children soon begin swimming lessons.
This week, Badgers have been potters, replicating Greek earthenware. Rabbits have made olive leaf crowns, to use in the re-enactment of "Zeus in the Temple". Squirrels have designed and made a coat for an Olympic Winner (children will take turns to wear it, when they achieve an Olympic value or task!) Otters have extended their 3D models of London. Hedgehogs have made full sized soldiers of the Queen's Brigade, whilst Hamsters have enjoyed playing on all their outdoor equipment, without getting wet! They have made the most of the lovely warm weather, enjoying story time in the shade of lovely leafy trees, but have stayed inside in the cool for snack times. While it is so hot, please remember to provide a sun hat for your child, and apply sun cream before you drop them off at school!
REMEMBER: Tuesday 29th May - King/Queen dress up Day!
