Week Ending 21st March 2014
K'nex Challenge for KS2 got the week off to an exciting start. Models were amazing, and all participants were awarded with a prize... and a very special award for the winning group. Thanks to all who participated.
Monday was also the day when a team of Year 4 and 5 hockey players went to All SAints Academy in Dunstable to take part in a "Quick Sticks" inter-schools tournament. Once again Eaton Bray children played fantasically well, and came away as the champions! We are gaining quite a reputation as the school to beat in the local area - well done to all who took part!
For the duration of the week the focus has been SCIENCE. Each afternoon, a wide range of scientific activities and experiences have been ongoing. Children had fun investigating the properties of different solutions, and using chemical reactions to blow up balloons. "Mad Scientists" visited on Tuesday, setting new and challenging tasks for all.
The week ended with our sponsored "Walk for Water," and not surprisingly, the day began with spots of rain... though this cleared up later, and the children enjoyed walking laps of the school grounds in beautiful spring sunshine. Hopefully lots of money will be raised, to help the less fortunate than ourselves, who cannot just "tap" into water with the turn of a handle.
Next week Parents Evenings:
Open Afternoon - Tuesday 3.30 - 5.00pm - an opportunity to look at your child's work in the classroom.
Consultation Evening - Wednesday 6.30 - 8.00pm - individual appointments to speak to your child's teacher.
