On Tuesday afternoon Otters and Hedgehogs lead the school "Value Assembly". Our value this half term is "Happiness" and both classes shared some of their work around this theme. Otters showed their beautiful pictures and described what makes them happy. They also sang and danced to the song "I have a Spring in My Step That's What Makes Me Happy". Everyone loved this lively song and dance routine. A group of Hedgehog children passed a smiley face to each other and described what made them happy. Both classes sang "If You're Happy And You Know It" and performed the actions.

Year Six children have an exciting new project lined up as part of their EBA Enterprise activity. They have written a play based on "The Play That Goes Wrong", and will be performing this for parents on the evening of Friday 27th March. The evening will also include a three course meal, cooked of course by the children. On Wednesday afternoon, they practised one of their starters - tomato soup, made with fresh tomatoes and lots of lovely vegetables!

On Thursday, Badgers Class enjoyed a wonderful day out at Whipsnade Zoo, which was completely cost free, thanks to Ms Cosgrove's participation in the ZSL Education programme. The weather was rather grey and overcast, but remained dry and not too cold, which meant that the children could really make the most of all that the zoo had to offer both outside and inside - they particularly enjoyed meeting the goats in the petting zoo!

EBA Art Club takes place weekly on a Thursday lunchtime with Mrs Hornsey. All children are free to attend, and to express themselves artistically in whatever way they wish. Their lovely vibrant work is on display in the corridor outside the Library. After School Club children have also been creative this week, making wonderful "Oreo Robins!"

PTA volunteers have been busy this week, creating space behind the Nursery building, for a new shed to store all their equipment. The shed was delivered to school on Thursday lunchtime, and rather unhelpfully, the delivery driver left the large and cumbersome packages on the pavement, blocking the path to the school door.

Step forward the Year Five children, who took up the challenge of moving the new shed out of harm's way, and to where it was needed - well done Foxes! Their helpful act also doubled as a lesson in weights and balances, as much thought was needed to work out how best to manoeuvre the heavy load.

On Friday there was another Cross Country tournament at Dunstable Rugby Club. The morning session was for Years Three and Four, and in the afternoon, it was Years Five and Six's turn. Eaton Bray children did extremely well, competing with great enthusiasm and enjoyment, and behaviour that made staff proud. They all completed the course, with one of our Year Four girls and one of our Year Five girls achieving second places, and a Year Six boy winning his event. Well done to all who took part.

On Friday afternoon, Hedgehogs children were invited to a Teddy Bears Picnic. All the children received a special invitation from the Three Bears, and brought along their teddy bears, to enjoy tasty picnic treats baked by Mummy Bear herself! the teddy bears introduced themselves to the rest of the class, then everyone took part in a "Hunt the Bear" game, trying to find the bears that were hidden in the classroom. The afternoon ended with everyone singing "The Goldilocks Song!"
