Week Ending 15th March 2013
On Tuesday some children celebrated their achievements in our latest Sharing Assembly. The children spoke about their accomplishments and shared a variety of items: a moving pop-up book / aerobics routine / 3D structures / stories and sewing.
The highlight of this week was on Thursday, when all the staff and children dressed as characters from Shakespeare, for our World Book Day celebration.
Activities ranged from (i) magical poetry and rhymes which linked to our Literacy targets (ii) ingredients for spells and measuring Shakespearean ruffs relating to Maths (iii) magic potions involving scientific testing (iv) making cauldrons calling upon design and technology skills (v) dance and drama (vi) history relating to characters who lived in the past (vii) art ranging from abstract modern to detailed close observational drawings. Fun was had by all!
On Friday a choir from Edlesborough joined us in the afternoon, to share a medley of songs.
