Welcome back! We hope everyone had an enjoyable half term break.
Although the weather has been rather changeable this week, we have got back into the swing of our summer term activities with great enthusiasm!
On Thursday, a group of Year 4 children took part in a cricket tournament against other local schools, at all Saints Academy in Dunstable. Once again our team did us proud, and came away the tournament champions, winning every match, and coming top of the leader board! A very well done to all who played.
Hedgehogs Class have been learning all about the life cycle of butterflies. They have been looking after caterpillars and watching their development. Over half term, the adult butterflies began to emerge from the chrysalises, and on Friday, they were ready to be released! The children all wore bright clothes and butterfly prints, and gathered on the field to enjoy the event.
Choices has started again, with a wide range of activities on offer. Our "Jobs People Do" visitor this week was a Detective Inspector from Hertfordshire Police, who set the children the exciting task of solving a robbery! Two of our Year 6 children posed as robbers and faked the burglary of a laptop. Other children were cast as police officers and custody sergeants, and two children acted as solicitors for the defendants. Luckily the case was solved and justice was served to the satisfaction of all.
Older children went to Dell Farm Residential Centre on Friday, for a fun filled overnight stay that includes activities such as caving, archery and climbing. The evening will involve a camp fire and toasted marshmallows! Photos to follow in next week's blog...
