Week Ending 8th January 2016

Happy New Year and welcome back to the new term at Eaton Bray Academy!

Monday was a training day for staff, with First Aid training in the morning and Phonics training in the afternoon, then the children were back, full of enthusiasm, on Tuesday!

There are a few timetable changes to get used to this term, with Year 5 Enterprise now taking place on Wednesday afternoon, and Year 6 Enterprise on Thursday.  The Year 5s enjoyed cooking and did some blind taste testing, while Year 6s got on with some craft activities.

On Thursday morning, children in Deer Class gave a special assembly to the rest of the school.  The theme was "Happiness", which is our value for this half term.  The children gave a presentation on what makes them happy, and acted out the story of "The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse", reflecting on the fact that different things make different people happy.  There was lots of laughter, and everyone left the room with a smile on their face!

There were more happy smiles on Thursday afternoon for a group of Year 3 and 4 children who took part in a tag rugby tournament at All Saints Academy in Dunstable, against six other local schools.  Our team played wonderfully well and ended up top of the leader board!  They were delighted to be presented with medals as tournament champions. Well done children!

Choices started again on Friday, and this halt term's offerings include Golf, Pottery, Recorders, Jobs People Do, and much more.
