Week Ending 15th May 2015

A week of contrasts in the weather, with beautiful summer-like sunshine on Wednesday giving way to a cold wet Thursday that made us feel we'd stepped back into winter!

An important milestone in the history of Eaton Bray Academy this week - our first Key Stage 2 SATs took place!  We are very proud of our Year 6 children who have worked their hardest and taken these tests in their stride.  A celebration lunch with a special cake was enjoyed at the end of the week.

Mrs Hounslow opening the first EBA Year 6 SATs papers!
Otters Class have been excited to see how much their sunflowers have grown this week, using tape measures, and logging the measurements in their Sunflower Diaries.  They also planted tomatoes and cucumbers.

Rabbits Class have been learning about Vincent Van Gogh, and have created a beautiful reproduction of his famous painting "Starry Night".  Badgers have been a bit more surreal in their artwork this week, and have built a sculpture based on Salvador Dali's style.

Hamsters have had a "Very Hungry Caterpillar" week, and have enjoyed hearing the story and various activities, including a bug hunt around the school grounds.

Don't forget, next week there is a Phonics Evening at 7.00pm on Tuesday for parents of children in Year 1, and then the excitement of Sports Day at Stockwood Park Atheletics Stadium for all children in Main School on Wednesday!
